When somebody mentions the sunflowers my automatic reminiscence is about the famous painter, but also about summer, holidays, and the Sun. Probably I’m not the only one in this experience. I love these flowers in all its breeds. Now I have my own, painted with a needle and a thread.
It’s been difficult to create it, which is a rarity because I sew only the things which I fancy to make. With this one, it’s been about the composition not fitting into my imagination or about a border fabric delivery delays (never made it and I’ve got money back). In the passion of quilting, I burnt down my machine’s engine by forcing the poor thing to its limits. The good thing is, that I still have both ears anyway, but at the end, I’m not even close to Van Gogh 😉
I arranged the petals from the scraps of a variety of fabrics cutting everyone separately. One can see, that they’ve been made from fabric and not painted. That’s how I wanted it to be.
The backs of my art-quilt are usually covered, which is maybe a shame, cause they can be very interesting too. Here’s a picture, which was taken in the middle of quilting.

Mamy podobnie w tej kwestii. A co do kompozycji, tym razem cały czas mi coś nie pasowało, ostatecznie myślę, że jest ok.

Je viens de découvrir les tournesols, ils sont splendides ainsi que la couleur du fond. Les 3 travaux accrochés sont également toujours magnifiques. Vous faites un travail remarquable avec votre machine.
